COUNSELOR-AGENCY AND BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT (ABS)

Starting Hourly Rate:   $22.25  Shift: Evenings with rotating weekends

Full-time Benefits (40 hours a week):

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Program Manager of Agency and Behavioral Support (ABS), the  agency and behavioral support counselor will provide support, coordination and training across programs to ensure a safe and therapeutic treatment environment and serve as a role model by demonstrating professional skills and adherence to agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Provide agency staff with guidance in the performance of their duties.

Manage off-site and in-house visits and assist in the coordination of staff assignments for transportation.

Assist the Medical Clinic with the scheduling of medical appointments and hospital supervision.

Assist outside visitors and families when they arrive and direct them to appropriate areas.

Oversee crisis situations and conduct frequent agency checks and direct staff to ensure agency safety.

Ensure immediate post-crisis response is conducted according to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) standards and guidelines.

Maintain an accurate and current daily log, census, record of client movement, staff list and assigned crisis teams.

Requirements and Education:

High school diploma/GED required; minimum six (6) months working with children and families with mental/behavioral health issues preferably in a residential treatment setting; proficiency in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI); excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail; strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a team member and maintain confidentiality.
