Job Description
- Title: Program Administrator – Crisis Residence – The Beacon.
- Supervisor: Chief Program Officer
- Hours Per Week: 40 hours (includes some evenings and weekends)
- Qualifications: LMSW required: LCSW preferred. Experience working with
youth and families experiencing mental health crisis. Knowledge of mental health crisis and crisis intervention techniques.
- Skills: Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with
youth. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills.
- Function: Oversee the management and strategic direction of “The
Beacon” Crisis Residence an OMH (Office of Mental Health) licensed program, ensuring the provision of high-quality care and support to residents. This role involves leading staff, program development, and community engagement
- Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Develop and maintain a policy and procedure manual. The manual will guide program practice to ensure it is in compliance with all mandates set forth by the agency, state, and federal regulatory bodies.
- Ensure program practice is in compliance with all relevant regulations and .
- Provide leadership, informal and formal supervision to a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, case manager, and Assistant Program Administrator.
- Create a formal agenda and facilitate regular staff meetings.
- Maintain TCI trainer and Restorative Practices trainer status and attend required updates.
- Participate in the agency risk management team programs.
Program Development:
- Design and implement programs that address the mental health needs of youth in crisis.
- Evaluate and improve program effectiveness through regular assessments and feedback.
- Ensure the integration of evidence-based practices in all therapeutic interventions.
Staff Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
Service Provision:
- Ensure residents receive comprehensive mental health care and support services.
- Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans for each youth.
Facilitate crisis intervention and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Lead all audits and corrective action plans.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all oversight agency reporting standards.
- Ensure completion of all required documentation in the agency electronic health record.
- Coordinate with external service providers and community resources.
- Work with the agency leadership to advance the agency’s CQIP. This includes implementing and evaluating program targets based on data review and collection.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the residence is a safe and secure environment for all residents and staff.
- Ensure staff complete mandatory training requirements.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Adhere to NASW, AMHCA, NYS (New York State) Justice Center, SAI Code of Conduct, and ATSA guidelines.
- Maintain NYS social worker license.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Represent the program at community meetings and events.
- Keep abreast of information about mental health, therapeutic interventions, and current state policies and regulations that impact agency services/residents.
