Residential Child Care for young women ages 12-18
Every young woman comes to St. Anne Institute with her own unique life experiences and personal challenges. We offer a full range of therapeutic treatment options, all family focused, to help our clients resolve the issues and emotional problems that face them. Upon arrival, youngsters are encouraged to become involved in their treatment program, which ultimately focuses on returning them home or preparing them for independent living.
Our residential campus provides a structured and supportive environment for 124 young women ages 12-18 that have had difficulty living at home or functioning in their school or community. Seven comfortable dormitory-style living units provide 24- hour care to these youngsters at-risk. The dorms are designed to meet the needs of the youth both behaviorally and emotionally and staff acts as counselors, surrogate parents and role models for our clients.
Our specialized Critical Level Unit is designed for residents who have extraordinary needs, the degree and intensity of which cannot be met in our regular residential program or lower level of care. These girls are provided with self-contained academic and recreation programs while clinicians work daily with them in a highly structured environment.
St. Anne's Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Unit focuses on treating youngsters that abuse or are dependent upon chemicals. Residents attend AA, NA and Children of Alcoholics support groups in the community. Here, the girls focus on honesty with themselves, their peers and staff and are encouraged to adopt healthier attitudes and a drug free lifestyle.
St. Anne provides a wide range of support services to augment our residents' treatment programs including:
- Campus Ministry Program: through the guidance of our Campus Minister, St. Anne provides opportunities for all of our residents to practice their religious faith.
- Recreation Program: sports and fitness, arts and crafts and field trips
- Tutoring and Mentoring Program: our students are matched with college volunteers
Girl Scouts and other clubs
- Volunteer and Community Service Program: our students give back to the community!
