Nurse Practitioner- Psychiatry

Part-Time 20 hours/ week

 

Description of Duties:

To provide continuous & comprehensive services necessary for the promotion of optimal residential and community-based behavioral healthcare services to adolescents and their families. The successful applicant will be a member of an interdisciplinary team and will work collaboratively with clinical, residential and school staff in managing behavioral healthcare issues for the population served by SAI.

At first, the primary focus of the job will be in a residential and school program for adolescent females aged 12-21.  It is anticipated that future services will be provided in community-based programs that address issues involving children and families.  Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:  conducting complete mental health assessments and examinations, determining diagnoses impressions in accordance with established evidence-based criteria, and providing all aspects of mental health treatment, including prescribing and administering medications.

 

Qualifications:

Licensed NYS Nurse Practitioner- Psychiatry or be currently registered NP-P student who will graduate & be licensed at some point in the future. This position can be filled by an intern.

 

Special Notes:

There is a great deal of flexibility with the work schedule associated with this position.  There is no need for overnight coverage.
