Dr. Lauren Gates, Ph.D., of the Workplace Center at Columbia University recently made a site visit to review implementation of the YA WORC (Young Adults Work Opportunities for Rewarding Careers) program at St. Anne Institute. The program has begun for Genesis and Reuss Hall residents, as well as some students from the education program.

Staff from St. Anne Institute’s Therapeutic Innovative Program brought a group of four residents to the March for Our Lives event in Albany. All four residents registered to vote during the event. The girls also met Congressman Paul Tonko, the representative for New York’s 20th congressional district.
Spring has sprung inside our greenhouse! Students from our Work Experience program, with the help of Master Gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension, are hard at work planting seeds and tending them as they grow. Thank you to Stewart’s Holiday Match for the generous donation of $3500.00 that will be used for St. Anne’s ERC Program, the TIP Program and for a special activity field day in June for our students. We appreciate Stewart’s generosity and support through the years.
The New York State Dental Foundation has generously donated a grant of $6,858.97 to St. Anne Institute. These funds will be used to purchase Digital Radiography Equipment that will provide the St. Anne residents with the best possible dental services by updating equipment and making the dental experience less intrusive and less intimidating. St. Anne Institute’s treatment approach is provided through a trauma-sensitive core team concept. Earlier today, some of our Residential Counselors participated in a team-building activity called “Minefield.” Here we see Simone being successfully guided through the field by her co-workers.
