“What does St. Anne Institute mean to me?” This was the question posed to students who participated in an essay contest held in the agency school. On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, a breakfast was held in the Catena Conference Center to honor those students whose efforts were recognized in the essay challenge. The idea of the contest originated from one of our Foundation Board member’s, Anne Carroll, who wanted to inspire them to believe in themselves. Each girl received prize money generously donated by Anne.

A special guest at the award breakfast was Advisory Board member and published author, Eric Luper.  He described his own struggles as a writer and delivered a powerful message; “always believe in your self and never give up.” After the presentation, students were presented with a personally autographed book by the author. The essay winners were thrilled to be honored; the day was exciting and memorable for each of them.
St. Anne Institute would like to give a special recognition to Anne Carroll for her thoughtfulness. “It really does take a village to raise a child.”
